Author name: Michele Redmond
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I'm Michele Redmond. I understand how much time and effort we often spend on deciding how to eat and feel good. But let's face it no one enjoys the tediousness of it all. Instead eating well should be something we actually look forward to with our schedules. Unlike diets or strict eating plans eating well is, about finding enjoyment in food and maintaining health without relying on willpower or strict rules. You don't have to give up the foods you love or deal with recipes that require specialty ingredients. I consider myself a "Food Enjoyment Activist" because I believe we shouldn't just accept the impact our chaotic food system has on our self-confidence, trust issues, attitudes towards food, and the constant barrage of "eat this not that" advice from so-called food experts. All this noise and negativity doesn't contribute positively to our health or overall well-being. For more than 12 years, I've been helping individual employees and organizations overcome these challenges in their quest for health without having to sacrifice their favorite foods or make complicated decisions about what and how to eat. Let's focus, on developing habits, routines, and rituals The key, to maintaining a diet is to establish and cultivate habits and routines that make it easy to prepare and enjoy a variety of nutrient-rich and delicious foods. Throughout our day we already rely on habits (automated actions) routines (actions we repeat) and meaningful rituals (routines with reflection and connection). Here are some of my experiences; I taught cooking at a diabetes center based in a hospital for over 4 years. I completed an arts diploma at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. I have worked in types of kitchens. Served as a research chef for a meal kit company. I also obtained a diploma from the Haute du Goût de la Gastronomy (Higher Studies of Taste and Gastronomy) in France. In addition, I have taught nutrition and cooking at schools, colleges, and universities. As a guest Chef Instructor, at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris I conducted Culinary Nutrition Taste Workshops. I am Michele Redmond, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Chef dedicated to enhancing health and well-being through the adoption of habits and routines that promote eating practices.
