Maria Paula Carrillo, MS, RDN, LD Maria Paula's interest, in nutrition began during her high school years when she visited a Registered Dietitian in her home country of Ecuador. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for helping others achieve their goals through eating. Motivated by her passion Maria Paula decided to pursue her aspirations at Texas Woman’s University. She continued to expand her knowledge and obtained a Master's Degree in Nutrition. Throughout her career as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Maria Paula has focused on working with families. She has provided services at Head Start of Greater Dallas, the Women, Infants and Children’s Program (WIC) the Neonatal ICU at Parkland Hospital. For 7 years she served as a Dietitian at Children’s Health (Children’s Medical Center) in Dallas specializing in Gastroenterology Disorders. With a family of her own Maria Paula finds fulfillment in assisting families to work towards their nutritional goals. She possesses experience in weight management counseling. Has worked with families and individuals dealing with food allergies, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Failure to Thrive (FTT) feeding tubes, and difficulties as well, as Celiac Disease among other conditions. Furthermore, Maria Paula takes pleasure in sharing her knowledge with others. She enjoys crafting articles, for publications such as magazines, newspapers, and blogs. Moreover, she happily accepts opportunities for TV or radio interviews where she can provide science-based information and offer tips to both public and professional audiences. Maria Paula is a fitness enthusiast who finds joy in running and regularly participates in Camp Gladiator.
