Registered Dietitian. Laurens Journey I chose to become a Registered Dietitian because I have a passion, for everything related to health and wellness. However, my interest in food and exercise goes beyond fascination. They have played a role in maintaining my well-being. During my high school years, I faced the challenges of an eating disorder. Overcoming that struggle led me to discover that I had developed Multiple Sclerosis in my 20s. This revelation prompted me to delve into the intricacies of nutrition and its impact on the body. I was determined not to let MS take control of my health after overcoming my eating disorder battles. So, I embarked on a journey of understanding nutrition... I obtained my RD certification. Completed a Master’s degree in Public Health Nutrition from Hunter College before establishing my practice shortly thereafter. With over 7 years of experience in the field of nutrition, I thoroughly enjoy working with clients who aspire to lead lives through eating habits. My areas of expertise include disorders and autoimmune conditions. Additionally, I find fulfillment in helping clients manage dietary needs such, as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and cardiovascular health concerns. Taking an approach each diet plan and meal recommendation is tailored for long-term sustainability. My firm belief lies in the power of food and its ability to nourish our bodies. I provide encouragement and support, to my clients collaborating closely with them as they make the necessary changes to reach their objectives. What I find most fascinating about nutrition is its individuality. It can be tailored to each person's needs. It's not a one-size-fits-all approach. While there are principles that apply to everyone (like eating your vegetables!) nutrition can be personalized to help you achieve your health goals and live a life.
