How does the testing process work? The KORR Metabolic Analyzers employ technology for ICU metabolic testing. Since every calorie consumed requires an amount of oxygen for energy conversion the KORR Analyzer measures the oxygen intake to calculate calories burned. To accurately measure oxygen consumption all exhaled air from the patient is collected. The KORR Meta Breather incorporates two one-way valves that allow air inhalation while directing all exhaled gas through the hose and, into the machine.
